Melanoid Albino Axolotl - Sub-Adult
Albinos lack both xanthophores and melanophores. If they do have iridophores, they are confined solely to the gills. Their eyes appear pink, transparent, or red in color. The skin can be either pale pink, pale yellow, or cream in color. Typically, the gills darken to a deep red over time. Melanoid albinos have darker colored gills than typical albinos. Juveniles can even appear translucent!
Super GFP Melanoid Albinos will glow bright green when exposed to blue aquarium lights. Light GFP Melanoid Albinos will also glow green, but not as brightly as the Super GFPs. When not exposed to unique lighting conditions, GFP Melanoid Albinos look the same as non-GFP Melanoid Albinos.
The first image is of a Super GFP. The last image is of a Light GFP. The rest are of a non-GFP.
