Small Red Wiggler Worms

$19.99 - $79.99

This product consists of live worms that are intended to be fed to pet axolotls. Adjust quantity of worms based on what your axolotl is able to handle, as well as based on the comparative size of the worms.

Small juvenile axolotls (axolotls measuring 3 inches in legnth) should be fed one red wiggler daily.  Axolotls smaller than this may need to be fed either live black worms, or have their red wigglers cut up into small sections.

Medium juvenile axolotls (axolotls measuring 4 inches in length) should be fed two red wigglers daily.

Small sub-adult axolotls (axolotls measuring 5 inches in legnth) should be fed 3 red wigglers daily. Axolotls around this size are generally ready to soon transition to European Nightcrawlers, though they may not always like the taste. If your axolotl does not like European NIghtcrawlers, simply continue to increase the number of red wigglers you are providing.

Keep in mind that axolotls will not generally overeat, and that the thickest part of an axolotl's body should be the same width as its head.

If the axolotl's body is signifigantly thicker, then it is being overfed. If it is signifigantly thinner, then it is being underfed. Please note that both of these symptoms can be indicitive of other health issues.

For example, a significantly fat axolotl may be bloated or experiencing organ failure. Additionally, a significantly skinny axolotl may have consumed something that is causing an intestinal blockage or might have parasites.

Use your best judgement when trying to assess the source of irregularities regarding your axolotl.
